Every study we prepare \u2014 from a water-supply network to an urban plan or the restoration of a historic building \u2014 must balance three values: protection of the environment, social responsibility and the economic viability of the project over its whole life cycle.<\/p>\n<p>As an engineering consultancy, our responsibility begins before construction. The choices made at the design stage \u2014 alignment, materials, energy performance, water management, integration into the landscape \u2014 determine a project&#8217;s footprint for decades. That is why we invest in knowledge: we systematically follow developments in legislation, standards and technology so that the solutions we propose are current, feasible and resilient over time.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ilx-sus-quote\">We design projects that serve people and respect their place \u2014 today and for the generations to come.<\/div>\n\n<section class=\"ilx-sus-sec\" id=\"environment\"><span class=\"ilx-sus-num\">01<\/span><h2>Environmental Responsibility<\/h2>\n<p>The environmental dimension is inherent to our work. We prepare Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Special Environmental Studies and Management Plans for Natura 2000 sites, as well as environmental permitting studies for water-supply, sewerage and wastewater-treatment infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>In design we seek the least possible intervention in the natural and built environment: flood protection and watercourse delineation that respects natural dynamics, energy upgrading of existing buildings rather than their replacement, bioclimatic design of schools and public buildings, and regeneration of public spaces guided by urban ecology and accessibility.<\/p>\n<p>Our team keeps up to date with, and applies, current environmental legislation and industry best practice at every stage of a study \u2014 from preliminary investigation to tender documents.<\/p><\/section>\n\n<section class=\"ilx-sus-sec\" id=\"society\"><span class=\"ilx-sus-num\">02<\/span><h2>Social Responsibility<\/h2>\n<p>The great majority of the projects we study are public: schools, water networks, road infrastructure, squares, the cadastre. They serve communities and everyday needs. We therefore design with the end user in mind \u2014 the pupil, the pedestrian, the island resident \u2014 and with respect for local identity, historical memory and the scale of each place.<\/p>\n<p>Accessibility for all, user safety and the creation of quality public space are constant criteria in our studies. As an employer, we invest in our people: continuous training, collaboration across disciplines, and a working environment of equality and respect.<\/p>\n<p>Economic sustainability is part of our responsibility towards the public authorities that entrust us: we pursue solutions with rational construction and maintenance costs, a low energy footprint and realistic implementability.<\/p><\/section>\n\n<section class=\"ilx-sus-sec\" id=\"safety\"><span class=\"ilx-sus-num\">03<\/span><h2>Health &amp; Safety<\/h2>\n<p>Safety is not only a site obligation; it starts with the design. We build safety into the study \u2014 road safety in transportation projects, rockfall and landslide mitigation, flood protection of settlements \u2014 and we prepare the required Health &amp; Safety Plans and Files for every project.<\/p>\n<p>Our principles:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ilx-sus-list\">\n<li>Identify and eliminate hazardous conditions from the design stage.<\/li>\n<li>Clear allocation of responsibilities and attention to detail at every stage.<\/li>\n<li>A safe and healthy working environment in the office and in the field (surveying, site inspections).<\/li>\n<li>Continuous information and training of staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/section>\n\n<section class=\"ilx-sus-sec\" id=\"systems\"><span class=\"ilx-sus-num\">04<\/span><h2>Management Systems<\/h2>\n<p>ILIDA operates a Quality Management System certified to ISO 9001 by the accredited body Bureau Veritas Certification, covering the full range of its activities.
