The project concerns the restoration, enhancement and reactivation of part of the buildings of the former Aigio Paper Mill factory, for municipal services, cultural and recreational uses. The proposed operation provides for the restoration, enhancement and reactivation of part of the existing former industrial buildings and their surroundings, which extend over a total area of 7,320.99 m².
The Paper Mill is located in the Myrtia area on the western side of the Aigio waterfront; it was founded in 1924 and has been out of operation since 1991. The part of the former industrial complex of the Aigio Paper Mill that constitutes the intervention area – restoration, enhancement and reactivation of the abandoned buildings with new uses – corresponds to the central section, which can be developed independently and operate as a multifunctional unit with cultural, recreational, sports and administrative uses provided by the Municipality, combined with leisure and dining uses provided by a private operator.
