The subject of this contract is the preparation of all required studies, the securing of all necessary approvals and permits, and the drafting of the tender documents for the works concerning the restoration of the Old Holy Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour in the Municipality of Metamorfosi.
The principle that defines the intervention and the transformation of the building of the former Church of the Transfiguration into a Cultural Space is the morphological differentiation and clear distinction between the existing elements of the building and the new ones. The central idea behind the intervention is the creation of a new visual identity for the building that reflects its new use, without losing the historical references of its original one. In this way, the evolution of its role in the life and memory of the place is ensured, establishing it over time as an important landmark of the area, organically linked to the cultural dimension of creation. This will achieve, in the best possible way, the enhancement of the important frescoes on the ground floor, while at the same time providing a suitable home for targeted cultural activities of the Municipality.
