Designing the Greece of tomorrow: 9 Local Urban Plans across 5 Regions

Local Urban Plans (LUPs) constitute the largest spatial-planning reform in the country’s modern history. For the first time, every Municipality acquires a modern, integrated framework for land uses, building regulations, environmental protection and the organisation of residential space — replacing decades of fragmented planning and securing legal certainty in construction. The programme is implemented by the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), under the Ministry of Environment and Energy, within the National Recovery Plan “Greece 2.0”.

ILIDA Consulting Engineers SA takes an active part in this national effort, preparing 9 LUPs from Western Greece and Epirus to Thessaly, the Peloponnese and Crete:

  • Municipality of Pyrgos — €1,213,800
  • Municipality of Heraklion — €1,135,260
  • Municipality of South Pelion — €1,103,130
  • Municipality of Ilida — €903,210
  • Municipality of Phaistos — €875,840
  • Municipality of Kantanos–Selino — €854,420
  • Municipality of Zacharo — €666,400
  • Municipalities of Preveza and Ziros — €511,700
  • Municipality of Velo–Vocha — €414,834

Total contract value: approx. €7.68 million (excl. VAT) — across 5 Regions and 6 Regional Units.

Behind every plan stands an interdisciplinary team — urban planners, transportation engineers, surveyors, environmental scientists, geologists and lawyers — that turns the data of each place into sustainable development proposals. Undertaking projects of this scale and geographic reach confirms ILIDA’s expertise, reliability and commitment to contribute decisively to the modernisation of urban planning in Greece.
