Water is an essential natural resource, and the need to safeguard it is becoming ever more critical — and more difficult. Global population growth and the climate crisis are disrupting past balances, and every year the planet faces a looming drinking-water crisis. Poor management of water resources depletes reserves faster than they are replenished, leading to water scarcity, mainly in developing countries.
